The dark side of canned food

Will bisphenol A be banned?

Bisphenol A: an endocrine disruptor with widespread exposure and multiple effects

The European Food Safety Authority is once again re-evaluating the safety of this substance.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) itself has released a draft scientific opinion for public information recommending a lowering of the limit considered safe for bisphenol A, a substance that has been associated by science with countless health problems and which has been detected in the bodies of practically the entire population.

The draft is open for public consultation until February 8. Bisphenol A (BPA) is present in many everyday objects, such as the inside of tin cans, and has been associated with multiple negative effects on health at very low concentrations.
